What's New in T-Square Spring 2009

Tool Enhancements, New Features, and Pilots from Educational Technologies and CETL

Site Stats (now a default tool), the Sites Stats tool has been added to every new site. This tool allows instructors or site maintainers to view reports about the activities of site participants, whether they are students or collaborators in a project site. It also quickly gives access to any files uploaded by students in the Assignment, Resource, or Dropbox tools.

Sign-up Tool (added in late Fall 2008). This tool would need to be added to your site (Site Info > Edit Tools), and it provides you with the opportunity to schedule events, meetings, lab times, or office hours, while allowing other site participants to sign up for the time slot they want.

Public Access to sites: the ability to make sites accessible in a limited way without password or ID. This is generally intended as a “read only” view of site materials. Instructors/Site Owners will have control over the tools that allow public viewing or participation. Some tools, like the gradebook, will never be available for public view. Instructors will also have the ability to rescind that permission on a tool by tool basis. Those with research, departmental, or project sites wanting to try this feature, contact Stephen@cetl.gatech.edu . A new document will be available the week of January 5th describing in detail the workings of this new feature as well as tools that already allow some degree of public access. Once that document has been published at http://info.t-square.gatech.edu, we will begin adding the feature to the sites that have requested it.

Roster: This tool allows you to view the pictures of all your students. It is not a default tool. You need to add it to your site (Site Info > Edit Tools).
