- How do I submit my mid-term or final course grades to Banner/OSCAR?
- Please see our FAQ page on Submitting Grades to Banner
- I'm trying to import grades into the gradebook from a spreadsheet, but T-Square won't let me upload a grade of "I" (incomplete). How can I do this?
- The gradebook does not accept alphanumeric characters at this time. The workaround is to use the Post'em tool which allows any kind of character that can be in a .csv file. Check the HELP files for more information on Post'em.
- I tried to import grades into the gradebook using the template on the import page, but T-Square tells me that there are no changes and that one of my grade columns has to be updated through Assignments. What does this mean?
- Columns in the Gradebook that are created by "Assignments" or "Tests and Quizzes" can only be modified from those tools. If you want to grade your assignments or tests offline, entering the grades into a spreadsheet (like Excel), and then uploading them into T-Square, you will have to take a few extra steps. When you create an assignment or test, configure it so that the grades are not automatically sent to the gradebook (mark the "Do not add assignment to the Gradebook" setting for assignments; mark the "Grading -> Gradbook Options -> None" setting for tests and quizzes). Then, go to your gradebook and create a column (gradebook item) for the assignment or test. It is also worth noting that if you create the assignment columns in the gradebook first, then create your assignments, you can use the "Associate with existing Gradebook entry" option, and you'll be able to modify those grades from either the Assignments tool or the Gradebook tool, which also means that you can upload grades for those columns from an external spreadsheet.
- How do I delete a column in the gradebook?
- You should go to the Roster view of the gradebook (student names shown on the left, columns displayed for each graded item). Under the title for each column there is a "Details" link. Select this link and on the next screen it will allow you to delete the column "Remove gradebook item from gradebook") or it will inform you that the assignment/test that created it must be deleted first. You should only delete an assignment if there are no student submissions for that assignment -- otherwise you run the risk of deleting student work. You can always just hide a column from your students by editing the settings for that column ("Edit gradebook item settings") and unchecking the "Release this item to Students" option.
- How can I reorder the columns in the gradebook?
- You can't reorder columns in the current version of T-Square -- columns stay fixed in the order in which they are created. One suggestion: before you set up your gradebook, set it up in a spreadsheet program (like Excel) first so that you can work out the order you want. Then, you can simply import all the columns into your gradebook.
- Does the PRS gradebook go into the T-Square gradebook?
- If your PRS system can export a CSV file that matches the format T-Square wants (see Import Grades in the Gradebook), then you can import that data in the same way that you would import grade data from a spreadsheet application (like Excel). However, there currently is not a dynamic connection for any PRS systems.
